Carl M. Freeman Foundation Announces Grant Opportunity for Small Sussex County Nonprofits
Selbyville, DE –The Carl M. Freeman Foundation is proud to announce the opening of grant opportunities for nonprofit organizations located in Sussex County, Delaware. Financial support is available through the FACES (Freeman Assists Communities with Extra Support) Grants Program, which targets smaller organizations that are often overlooked by funders.
The grant cycle will open on February 12, and applications are due by March 11 at 5 p.m. A “Meet the Funder” workshop will take place at 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 19, at the Georgetown Public Library in Georgetown, Delaware. This workshop will provide an overview of the FACES grant process as well as the online application software. Those with questions about the application process may contact Lindsay Richard at 302-483-7639 or lindsay@freemanfoundation.org. The winners will be announced in May.
“We are so proud to be able to serve the most vulnerable organizations serving our community for the past 19 years,” stated Patti Grimes, Executive Director of the Carl M. Freeman Foundation. “We are committed to doing everything we can to help support and continue the vital work they do.”
The FACES program utilizes an advisory board composed entirely of citizens who live or work in Sussex County. Typically, these people are community leaders, activists, former or current elected officials, and nonprofit executives. Advisory board members evaluate the applications and recommend where funding should be awarded based on the needs and priorities of the community. Grant guidelines and applications can be found on www.carlfreemanfoundation.org.
